Yetti Hydraulic System Troubleshooting

In this post, we are going to go over ways to troubleshoot your Yetti’s hydraulic system.

We have broken the solutions into three categories and within those, we have pinpointed solutions.

Battery Power
Bad Solenoid
Hydraulics Irregularities

Battery Power

First, make sure you have good battery voltage.

Remote Control. Make sure the remote being used is fully charged using a micro USB charger.
House Battery Status: Check the voltage of your batteries when not plugged into shore power. Reading voltage when plugged into shore power or truck will display inaccurate reading. The house will not operate if the battery is not well charged, regardless of if it’s plugged into shore power or not.
Is the master disconnect turned to the on position? The battery will not charge if the master disconnect is shut off.
Make sure battery terminals are properly connected and the connections are clean and tight.

Bad Solenoid

Make sure your pump is engaging

Solenoids can fail in different ways, often they will “click” but will not fully engage and fail to send an electrical current to the pump motor, other times they will not click at all. It is important to check that the solenoid is receiving signal power from the receiver. This can be done with a standard 12-volt test light by checking power at the small terminal on the solenoid. It should light the test light when pressing the Raise All button. If not suspect the receiver/ remote. If the small terminal powers up when the Raise all button on the remote is pressed suspect the Solenoid.
Is there a clicking sound under the couch? If so, but hydraulics are not working, re-check your battery as this is the most common cause. It could also be that the pump is non-operable and will need to be repaired or replaced.
If there is no clicking sound it is likely your solenoid has gone bad and will need to be replaced. This happens more commonly with houses that are used when the battery is low, as this is hard on the solenoid. It is an inexpensive part and is readily available.

Hydraulics Irregularities

Not lifting to full height or operating unevenly from side to side.

Pivot Points- Make sure to grease the wheel assembly pivot points to prevent seizing. If the Pivots are seized consult your nearest service center for repairs.
Make sure the carrying weight is as evenly distributed inside the house as possible, and that you are within the house GVWR.
Check to make sure fluid is at the appropriate level in the reservoir and work any air out of the system if the fluid was low. Do this by filling the reservoir to the proper level with ATF Dextron III, and then working the hydraulics up and down. Also, try to identify any potential leak to avoid a re-occurrence. If leaks are found consult your nearest service center.
Try using the ALL button vs. a single side or tongue alone for some increased pressure. If that still is not working, you may need to assist the hydraulics with a manual jack, being sure to pin the hydraulics once in position.
